ladieda

It's been a while since I did something real stupid. Probably about a month or so, for that's when test week came to an end and sleep deprivation was finally conquered. From that angle, it wasn't that surprising that there had to be a day that it happened again. I stumped my toe.

Today was a biking-home-without-a-jacket-day. A not-so-interesting-but-still-quite-satisfying-day. It was one of those days that aren't that remarkable on their own, but which do give you this overall feeling of happiness. I actually felt quite pleased with how everything went. But then I stumped my toe.

I have to admit it may seem to you, my public, as if this wasn't by far the first stupid thing I did this month. That's true. The thing is, when I did that sound of music dance, when we made up tennis ball games in the back of the car, that was because we intended to do so. This, however, wasn't done on purpose. It just happened.

The first five seconds it hurt real bad, like it always does, but the problem wasn't solved when the pain had disappeared. My toe just kept bleeding, and bleeding, and bleeding. And then, when I decided to put my foot in the water (for it was already five minutes past six), that was probably one of the worst things I could have come up with. Water multiplies the blood, but it doesn't seem to dilute anything. By the time I looked at my foot again, it was as if it'd been cut off or something. I wasn't allowed to even touch the water, which was all the more annoying because I hadn't wanted to go to training anyway, and this felt like a huge waste of time.

Tons of toilet paper, heaps of empathatic words and finally some bandages later, I hit the water. And it felt good. It was just that I almost didn't have any time to swim because everyone wanted to know what happened, how it happened, how I felt and if I could please tell it again because they were very sorry but they didn't hear it clearly enough.

Certainly a day worth remembering.
